I know two receipes using Boiled Eggs. One is "Egg Thokku" and another one is this. When i tried this first during my early marriage days, i just felt the raw smell of the added ingredients. So, i decided not to prepare this anymore but suddenly when i checked my cookery book recently, this recipe got flashed and tempted me to prepare. so, try this for the second time only using 2 Boiled eggs. OMG!! i got my mom's taste. Hurray !!!!!!! :) Here comes my another boiled egg recipe.

INGREDIENTS
Boiled Egg - 2 Nos.
Onion - 2 Nos.
Garlic - 3 cloves
Tomato - 1 No.
Pepper corns - 1 spoon
Coriander
Chilly Powder - 1/2 spoon
Turmeric Powder - Pinch
Salt - To Taste
Mustard - 1/2 spoon
Sessame Oil - To garnish

METHOD:
Grind Onion, pepper corns, garlic, tomato as a thick paste and keep aside. Keep a pan and heat a spoon of oil. Allow mustard to get splutters. Then pour the grinded items, saute it along with turmeric powder and required salt, until the raw smell goes off. If you need more kaaram, add chilly powder. It will take more time as we have grinded raw onions & garlic. DONOT add water at any cost. Once the raw smell goes off, slit the boiled egg and add it to the mixture. Fry until the white part of egg coated well with the sauted mixture. You can taste it with Hot steamed rice and as a side dish for Rasam, Roti etc.

Hyacinth beans or Avaraikkai Poriyal

Once upon a time, "Avaraikkai" was my favorite veggie. But now, will run like a child when my hubby bought this veggie. The sad reason behind that is, one fine day, NO No No, 1 sad day, my hubby went to the market to buy groceries for that week and me adviced my hubby to get extra some grams of veggie as my FIL is visiting my home. He left home with the groceries list in which i didnt mention to buy Avairaikai as we bought that last week. Once he left home, my FIL (Father-in-law) came from his home town, with half kg of Avaraikkai as they use to get all types country veggies in cheaper rate with fresh looking. I was convincing me by saying, Ok. Lets prepare this at the weekend. After 30 mins time, my hubby came with a half kg of Avaraikkai :( I was shocked and he gave the explanation as he couldnt find 1 of the veggie in the list given by me, so he bought that as an alternate. Friends, just think, for 2 members, v had 1 kg of Avaraikkai :( So, not to waste that, i prepared the veggie for 3 times in a week which made to hate this and finally emptied it. So this was that sad story :(

INGREDIENTS
Avaraikkai - 1/4 kg
Chopped Onion - 2 Nos.
Chopped Tomato - 1 No.
Turmeric Powder - Pinch
Chilly Powder - 1 spoon
Salt - To Taste
Oil - to Fry
Grated Coconut - 2 Pieces
Corainder Leaf - 2 Twigs
Mustard - 1 spoon
Curry Leaf - 1 Twig
Smashed Garlic - 4 Nos.

METHOD:
Take a vessel, Boil chopped avaraikkai, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt by adding half glass of water. Once its boiled, drain the excess water and keep aside. Keep a frying pan, heat 3 spoons of oil. Then add mustard, once it splutters up, add chopped onion, tomato, corainder leaf, curry leaf, smashed garlic, saute it for 5 mins. Then add boiled avaraikkai and fry it with sauted items. Add grated coconut, 5 mins before switch off the flame.

Note: Avaraikkai can be cooked in pressure cooker or in the frying pan along with sauted items like Tomato, Onion, Garlic etc.

Last but not least, How can i forget this. Cha !!! Its my 75th blog. Heyyyyyyyyyyy :)

Rava/Sooji/Semolina Kichadi

Hi Friends,
Its my 25th post. So easily and quickly attained this number since i started my blog in End of Dec 2010. So to enjoy that, have decided not to publish my recipe in simple way.

So here comes, my recipe for this 25th post with my "First Try Memories or with some Info" :) Let me give brief about the ingredients and preparation and will narrate the memories which ends with the sad ending for me and happy ending for my hubby. Very Interesting is it ??!!! Wait for a while :)

INGREDIENTS
Fried Rava/Sooji/Semolina - 2 cups
Vegetables - Carrot, Potato, Beans, Cauliflower, Peas
Chopped Onion - 2
Chopped Tomato - 1
Spicy Items - Cinnamom, Cardomom and Cloves
Fennel Seeds - 1 spoon
Ghee - 2 or 3 spoons
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 spoons
Mint and Corainder Leaf - Handful
Curry Leaf - 2 or 3 twigs
Slited Green Chilly - 6 Nos.
Turmeric powder - Pinch
Salt - To taste
Oil - 1 spoon

METHOD:
Keep a wide mouthend vessels. Pour spoons of ghee with a spoon of oil. Add spicy items, Fennel seeds and Ginger garlic paste and saute it for a while. Add chopped onion and tomato and saute it until the onion color reaches golden brown. Add chopped vegetable into the vessels and add turmeric powder and salt and mix finely until the vegetable mix with the all the pre-fried items. Pour a glass of water and allow the vegetable to get cooked by closing the lid. Once the vegetable gets half baked, add the fried rava and add the required water and stir the content finely and add the required salt to taste.

Note: Stir rava when you are pouring it into the vessel, to avoid the formation of solid balls of Rava.

Here comes my "First Try Memories" !!! :)
It was just a 2 months, we got married. I was so eager to give a try for a new recipe for the dinner i.e. Rava Kichadi. I was back from office with lot of enthusiam after getting the recipe tips from my friend. She asked to me take 2 aalaku or Big alss of Rava with some vegetables for 2 person (Me and my hubby). Accordingly i have kept a very big vessel, which can accumulate 4 litres of water :) and i have added 6 or 7 spoons of ghee(!) and added just a 2 spoons of masala items and i have followed the above method for the preparation. Rava Kichadi reached the final stage which filled 3/4 of vessel and looks as if i have prepared for 5 members. I was shocked on seeing the content and am damn sure, the kitachi will get wasted. Huh! i have controlled my sad feelings and have done so many garnishing/seasoning to add more attraction to taste the Yummy(!) Kichadi. Also have prepared a delicious (really it was delicious) coconut chutney which is the best combination for Kitachi. Before my hubby tastes it, me thought of tasting it. Once i licked a small amount, tears roll down from my eyes, cos it has no flavour, taste...... N O T H I N G :(((((
Its time for my hubby to taste. I dont want to comment on my first try. So, i have served him with a spoon of chutney and he was simply enjoying the Kitachi without giving any comments. I was tensed and i asked him about the dish, He said "It was really Yummy and Delicious" and he asked me to serve it for 2nd time. When he asked me to serve, i hugged him and was literally crying by saying "Itha poi nalla irukunu solreengaleeeeeeeee". He tried to convince me nearly for 15 mins like a kid and i have started eating the Rava Kichadi (No other go !!)
You know, who is the root cause for this Disaster ?? Its my SWEETTTT Friend, who asked me to take 2 big glasses of Rava. Most funny is, till now i didnt try that Rava Kichadi. So friends, dont think this recipe is worst to try, Recently i have tried Vermicille or Semiya Kitachi in the same method and it came our very well.
