A friend of my mom gave a bag full of Dry Butter Beans, 2 weeks back. As am not familiar with the Butter Bean dishes, am just worried how to empty the bag full beans. Luckily, one of my colleague brought this dish "Butter Beans Masala" for her lunch. So me grabbed the recipe tips from her and tried that as today's side dish for lunch. Friends, try this and let me know ur feedback.
INGREDIENTS
Soaked & Pressured Butter Beans - 2 cups
Chopped Onion - 2 Nos.
Chopped Tomato - 1 Nos. (Small)
Coconut - 5 Pieces
Turmeric Powder - Pinch
Chilly Powder - 1 spoon
Fennel Seeds - 1 spoon
Cinnamon - 1"
Mustard - 1 Spoon
Oil - to Granish
Salt - To taste
To Grind:
Coconut with a spoon of fennel seeds
Method:
Keep a pan, pour a spoon of oil, add mustard and cinnamon. Once it splutters up, add chopped onion and tomato, saute it for 5 mins. Then add grinded mixture, turmeric powder, chilly powder and fry along with a pinch of salt, then add boiled butter beans and mix it with the mixture and fry until the content gets dried.
Note: Can also add water to keep it as curry for tiffen items.
